Hello Again

One of the lovely stamp sets from the new Summer Mini is the Hello Again set, for $21.95 you get some lovely stamps including flowers, butterflies and a loveheart. Stampin' Write Markers work well with this set when marking out the flower stem and colouring in the flower. Here is one card that I have made with this set, which has been made by recent
Stampastackers.

First Summer Mini Sample..Butterflies, Butterflies!

Okay, so I know I should be busy making my Christmas Cards but here is a sample of a Birthday Card using the lovely Butterfly punch and the co-ordinating Butterfly Prints Stamp set featured in the Summer Mini. I have also used a crocheted Fleurette which are so pretty and feminine and the ribbon is the Pink Pirouette 1 1/4 inch complementing the fleurette perfectly (in my opinion anyway!).

Summer Mini Catalogue now available!

I can't believe it is the first day of Summer and officially the beginning of the Christmas season, even if I have been making Christmas Cards with many of you since September!
The 1st of December also marks the date for the release of the new Summer Mini Catalogue. Once again, there are beautiful stamps, embellishments and papers for us all to add to our ever growing supplies! One item that I know many of you will like is the Butterfly Punch co-ordinating with the Butterfly Prints Stamp set. There is also a gorgeous Red and White Polka-dot Grosgrain Ribbon that is very cute and I absolutely love the Handmade Crocheted Fleurettes. I will be adding samples of cards I have made from some of the items from this catalogue over the next few weeks so keep watching....

Ribbon Club

I am having a different type of 'Ribbon Club'! On offer is 1 metre of each colour of the 1/4 inch Grosgrain Ribbons, all for $15.00! What a great way to have all 17 colours in the range without buying the whole reel. With 12 places available, I only have 6 spots left so if you would like to join in, please let me know ASAP by emailing me on katy.catford@hotmail.com.

Sorry, I know this image is a bit average (again!) but it at least gives you an idea of the colours on offer. Alternatively, if you have the Idea Book and Catalogue, check out Page 151.

Seasons of Joy with Stampin' Write Markers

Here is a sample of a card being made by Christmas Stampastackers at the moment...

Using Stampin' Write Markers (Real Red, Always Artichoke and Choc Chip) I have inked up the different words of the stamp from the Seasons of Joy Stamp Set. Using Versamark I have stamped the flower star on the Kraft cardstock to bring out the natural colour of the Kraft. Markers are so versatile and obviously great when you want to use different colours on a stamp at $5.75 each or $57.95 for the pack of 12.

Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper

Here is another way how the Textured Parisian Breeze Designer Series Paper from the current Spring Mini catalogue can be used. As it has a good thickness to it, I have used it as a tab to hold together this bag with the sauces in. I have simply stapled it to the bag and used the 'Horizontal Slot' punch ($11.50) to pull the Choc Chip 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon and finishing it off with the Curly Label Punch Bundle ($65.95) and 'For you' stamp from the Great Friend stamp set ($31.95). Remember the Parisian Breeze paper and the Great Friend stamp set are from the Spring Mini catalogue which ends on November 30.

Spring Mini finishes soon...

You have only 2 weeks left to order items from the Spring Mini Catalogue! If there are Christmas Stamp Sets such as Tree Trimmings ($24.95),
Good Cheer ($39.95) that you have been delaying the purchase of, time is ticking so please let me know by Sunday 29th November if you would like to place an order from the Spring Mini. Don't forget too, the Scallop Oval Punch which is only available in this Spring Mini! These items will not be available after November 30. A reminder of samples of Stamp Sets from the Spring Mini are below... I have used the 'Great Friend' $31.95 and Oval All ($29.95) which is complemented by the Scallop Oval punch ($30.95).

Stamp Club has ended!!

I can't believe where the last 6 months have gone! Since April, six lovely ladies have been part of a 'Stamp Club' where each month they spend $50 on Stampin' Up! products and each take a turn in being a hostess in order to qualify for a free Hostess Set and $30 to spend from the catalogue. Thank you to you all for participating in my first Stamp Club and if anyone is interested in joining another one, let me know as it is a great way to earn free Stampin' Up products without hosting a Workshop.
Particularly if your wish list is as long as your arm!!!

A Red and Black Tree Trimmings Christmas?

The Tree Trimmings set from the Spring Mini is proving very popular and at $24.95, it is great value and such a beautiful set. Here I have used it with Real Red and Basic Black for a more modern Christmas theme but I think it is very striking! Once again, the Stampamajig has been the key with this card to ensure the baubles are hung nicely!

Back to Christmas Cards

Okay, so I know I said I would next post a 'Mellow Moss' Christmas Card and whilst I have made a few, I have been a bit slack in taking the photo's to upload on to the computer! So, back to the In Colours for this post! Once again I have used the Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip together. This was inspired to coordinate with the pattern on the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper (Pg 20, Spring Mini Catalogue). I have used a few different stamp sets, Tree Trimmings, Spotlight on Christmas and Snow Swirled and the 'Merry Christmas' greeting stamp is from the Season of Joy set.
Another very easy card!

Baby Boy Card

I thought I'd change the subject for this post to a Baby Boy Card. Here is a card I have made using what seems to be my favourite colour at the moment, Mellow Moss. I have used it in conjunction with Bashful Blue and it came up beautifully for a Baby Boy Card. The stamp I have used is from the 'Punches Three' Hostess Set with the Mellow Moss Ribbon to finish the card off. I apologise for the photo being a bit skewiff (if that is a word!).

Mellow Moss will also be featuring in some Christmas Cards I will be posting soon, I hope you like them too!

'Good Cheer' Christmas Stamp Set

As soon as I saw the 'Good Cheer' Stamp Set in the Spring Mini, I fell in love with it. I have found the best way to ink the stamp is by using a Brayer. In using the brayer, I roll it onto the stamp pad to ink it up and then roll this onto the stamp to ensure coverage all over the stamp. Previously when I was inking this stamp pad I was missing parts of it and the image would not be complete causing major frustration as you can imagine! So now, the stamp inks up without fail!
Supplies I have used are the Confetti Cream, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgandy, Whisper White Card Stock, Bravo Burgandy ink, Bravo Burgandy Ribbon, Good Cheer Stamp Set and Soft Holly Roller Wheel.
This is a card I will be making in Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stacks so if you would like to make it, let me know.

First Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack

Last night was the first Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack of the season! Thanks to the lovely 8 ladies who attended and made their first Christmas Cards of the season. Here they are in action...

...and this is a sample of one of the cards they made using the Tree Trimmings' set from the Spring Mini Catalogue. The cardstock is Kraft, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. Inks we used we Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Kraft for the greeting and the bows. I have also used Kraft Taffeta ribbon, I am finding this to be a nice alternative to using gold. We used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to give us perfect placement everytime!

My next Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack will be held on Monday 26th October, let me know if you would to join us!

'Sense of Time' Christmas Card

Here is a sample of another way to use the beautiful 'Sense of Time' stamp set in conjunction with the 'Good Cheer' set from the current Spring Mini Catalogue. The colours I have used in this card are Bravo Burgandy, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla. The ribbon is Bravo Burgandy 5/8 inch Grosgrain Ribbon and I have used the Eyelet Border Punch to 'trim' the bottom edge of the card.

For those of you who were unable to attend, here is a sample of one of the items we made using the 'Sense of Time' stamp set. To make this card we have used is the Baja Breeze, Choc Chip, Kraft and Very Vanilla cardstock. I have used the Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper as a background for the clock. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip and I have used staples to secure it in place instead of tying.

On Saturday 1st of August, the new Spring Mini Catalogue will be released! There are some beautiful stamps, a gorgeous Oval Scallop Punch and once again, the Designer Series Papers won't disappoint! I will be posting some designs over the coming weeks that can be used at Stampastacks and workshops over the next few months. I am also working on some Christmas Card designs with some of the beautiful Christmas stamps from the Spring Mini which I will upload soon so keep checking the blog!

Here is one of the designs using the Oval Scallop Punch. Using it in conjunction with the 3 hole scallop punch creates a very feminine look.

Friendship Card

Last weekend my husband was lucky enough to go away and stay with a beautiful friend of ours in Sydney. I was lucky enough to stay home with India and have a lovely weekend of cardmaking without feeling guilty for locking myself away in my craft room!

I made this card for Analee for Kim to say 'thank you' for the positive outlook on life her and Jay infect us with! I'm glad I took a photo of it before he left because apparently when he went to write on it a huge 'blob' of ink leaked from his pen onto the card!! Here is how it should have looked Analee!

Monday Night's StampaStack

Thanks to the lovely ladies who joined the StampaStack on Monday night! In my 'cosy' craft room we all gathered together with the open fire keeping us warm from the chill of the winter air. Here is a sample of one of the cards they made, using Rose Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla cardstock with the Baroque Motifs stamp, Bella's Border roller wheel, Eyelet Border punch with Rose Red ink. It is such a lovely, feminine card which is very simple to make.

'So Glad We're Friends' 6 x 6 Scrapbook Page

At a Workshop yesterday, I demonstrated this 6 x 6 Scrapbook Page. Using the Pink Pirioutte Textured Cardstock, Raspberry Tart DSP, Riding Hood Red Textured Cardstock, Bella's Border roller wheel, Riding Hood Red Ink, Pink Piroutte Double Striped Ribbon and the
Best Yet Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set. I have also used the 1 1/4 inch Square and 1 3/8 Square Punches. It is just a lovely way to combine the 3 colours. I must say I am looking forward to using the Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red together with Christmas Card Designs.

Monday, June 29, 2009

Sorry for my lack of posts over the last few weeks, I have become a little bit time poor but hopefully I now gain more hours in the day to do more craft!
I have been playing around with the Designer Series Paper once again and have transferred my love of patchwork quilting into card making. By using the Hostess 'Patterns Pack II Designer Series Paper, I have made a 'patchwork' like card. I hope you like it, once again it just shows the versatility of the Designer Series Paper - I just love using them and coordinating the different patterns with the associated colours.

Designer Series Paper Scraps

I have been having a bit of a clean out of my drawers (not that you can tell!) and found some scrap pieces of Designer Series Paper which I have put to good use on some cards and I even covered a little note book.

Here are some samples of what you can do with your leftover bits of DSP...
With the notebook, I have utilised the Scallop Circle Punch, the 1 1/4 inch and 1 3/8 inch circle punches and raised them with Stampin Dimensionals to give a 3 D effect. Colours are Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla and Rose Red for the Flower in the middle. The Stamp set is 'Think Happy Thoughts' which is a great set to use with the Circle Punches.

With the card, I used a 4inchxinch piece and cut it
on the diagonal, hiding the join with the black grosgrain ribbon.
I used the 'Short and Sweet' stamp set and the 1 1/4 inch
and 1 3/8 inch square punches for the mounting.

Designer Series Paper Flowers

Here is a card that I made using Designer Series Paper and the 1/4 inch circle punch. All I did was punch out 6 circles and stick them around each other using sticky strip. The colours I have used are Regal Rose, Whisper White and the paper is 'Sweet Always'. I have also used the flower stamp from the 'Short and Sweet' stamp set.

Want to earn free products without hosting a Workshop??

How is the possible you may ask? Well, you can do this by joining the 'Stamp Club'. This is a way to receive Hostess Benefits without actually hosting a Workshop. Basically, six members form the club and pay $50 a month for 6 consecutive months. They they take a turn in receiving the Hostess Benefits of a Stamp Set and $30 to spend within the catalogue. How?...because the 'Club' sales achieve the $300 threshold required to qualify for the Hostess Benefits. Some new creations!

I have been lucky enough this week to have a bit more time in the evenings to get creative. Makes such a difference when India goes to bed at a reasonable hour these days! Sometimes after a bit of playing around, the final inspiration doesn't hit until 10.30pm but here are a few of the designs I have come up with this week which will be used at the next month's upcoming Stampastacks. Hope you like them...

Cupcakes and Craft!

Today I held a 'Cupcakes and Craft' afternoon where 13 lovely ladies came to see the new Idea Book and Catalogue and make 2 projects - a 'cupcake' card and a 5cm Box (photo's will be coming soon!). They enjoyed an pleasant afternoon of creating, sticking, stamping plus a cuppa and a cupcake!! I am planning on holding another one of these events on Monday 11th May at 7.30 so if you would like to attend, please let me know as soon as possible because places are limited!

New 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue

The new 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue was released this week!! I have enjoyed sitting down with a coffee, pen and wishlist as I have gone from front cover to back cover trying to decide what to order first! I must say that my favourite items are the Designer Series Paper prints and there are so many beautiful ones to choose from that it was very hard to hold back!
There is also gorgeous 'Cupcake' roller wheel with a coordinating stamp set which I also can't wait to start playing around with! So many embellishments and some new punches to add to your collections too!
I have attached a link for you to be able to peruse the catalogue on line but if you would like have a closer look and order a catalogue please contact me.

Welcome to new viewers!

Can I just say how much I am enjoying sharing ‘Stampin’ Up!’ and my cards with you all! I am meeting so many beautiful people and getting such pleasure out of seeing you all have fun at the ‘StampaStacks’ held over the last few months. I love the creativity that flows when people have a bit of a play around with the designs and go ‘outside the square’. I am definitely a much more structured, simple card maker but I love to see people ‘cut loose’ so to speak!
As I have mentioned in my 'About Me' box, I only joined Stampin’ Up! For the discount, I now can’t believe I have my own client base and a blog page!!
I decided to include ‘scrapbooking’ in the title because I joined Stampin’ Up! mainly for scrapbooking and I do hope to continue in this line more one day! When I get the time!
I have posted some of the cards we make at the StampaStacks and as I make more cards, I will add them on so hopefully it will be an evolving page!!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my site!

Out with the Old and in with the New

The end of March signifies many things, the end of Daylight Saving, possibly the end of warm weather and the end of the 2008/2009 Idea Book and Catalogue. If you have seen the list of retiring products, you will see that many of our favourites are disappearing ready to make way for new and exciting products. I have already had a sneak peak and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of them. The new editions of the Designer Series Paper are just beautiful and many of you will be pleased to see some of the stamp sets from last years’ Mini Catalogues included in this new one. I know some of you were disappointed last year when you missed out on ordering some of the Christmas stamps but you are now in luck!
Don’t forget you have until Tuesday 31st March to order products from the current catalogue that appear on the retiring list (that’s if they are still available). Also be aware that the stamp pads will be increasing in price from $9.95 to $11.95 as will the ink refills, $4.95 to $5.95. If you would like to order any of these products, please let me know by Tuesday morning 31st March as I only have until 5.00pm to place the orders! I have perused the new catalogue and all other prices seem to remain the same.

Weekend Away

I have just had the most beautiful weekend away with my girlfriends. We hired a house on The Esplanade at Henley Beach and we were fortunate enough to have the perfect Autumn weather. The windy rainy weather was conjusive to staying indoors and do nothing but watch DVD's, read magazines and sit around chatting having lovely cups of tea and coffee. The perfect weekend! None of us took any craft but we should have because it was the perfect time without children to focus on the task at hand. Next time I will definately pack all my craft gear to make the most of the opportunity! What I did get to do though was read some lovely magazines which inspired me with some patterns and colour combo's so I might play around with that in the next week or so.

Cards Uploaded

I have finally uploaded photo's of some of my cards. The photo quality didn't come up as well as I had hoped but maybe I need to have a bit more of a play around!
My design style is more of a classic, structured style. I prefer to think of it as 'Less is more'.
What I do love however, that in some of my workshops, the girls will have a play around and create their own designs. That is what this is all about, finding your style and coming up with something you are happy with.

I've done all I can for the night!

Well, it didn't take long to add a few more things to it. What I do need to do is add more photo's, these will come tomorrow as they are currently on my camera, ready to be downloaded to the computer. I can see how this could be addictive.

Welcome

How easy was that to create my blog! Well, all I have done is sign up and I am now entering information so we'll see how many hours it takes me to 'pretty' it up now!
